Clara Weiland

Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Clara’s interest in Occupational Therapy was greatly influenced by her family background. Having grown up with a younger sister who had a dual diagnosis of Down Syndrome and Autism, as well as various health issues, Clara had the opportunity to see the positive impact of Occupational Therapy first hand.

Not long after graduating from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Clara decided to formally pursue a career in Occupational Therapy. She returned to Dalhousie University, where she completed her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree.

Though Clara is from Riverview, New Brunswick, she jumped at the opportunity to work in pediatrics and made the move to Prince Edward Island immediately after completing her education. Clara currently works with children and teens (under the age of 18), and uses a blend of creativity, methodical problem solving, and a collaborative mindset to achieve the best outcomes for her clients and their families.

Clara finds her work challenging but very rewarding, and commits much of her time to improving her practice. When she is not at the clinic, Clara likes to sing and dance, do large puzzles, and explore outdoor opportunities on the island.
